Really nice grassy area full of trees just behind a gas station where you can use wifi, get free coffee, toilets, hot AND cold water. If this place doesn't look good for you, you can also ask where's the closest church and you'll walk about 200m on a small hill where there will be shelter (in case your tent isn't rain proof, I heard that's the best place to go free camp). Around the church there should be a night guard, who I heard is a nice guy and has no problems with people camping. But camping in the trees behind the gas station is also safe. Even the sex workers working here during night were nice people. If you pay 7 reais you can have hot shower.
